Welcome to my travel blog, voyagers and voyeurs alike!
I've started this page up because my family and I are departing on a trip around Europe next week, and I have been threatened with ostracism unless I blog about it aaaaaall. This is a new approach; I am awfully slack about keeping diaries and accounts of my doings, so perhaps typing will make the difference.
You can expect lots of often-nonsensical rambling; a handful of pictures, and maybe even some blinding flashes of original thought (but don't hold your breath on that last count). I will try to write something in my hardcover journal each day, even if internet access means I have to backdate posts once I type them up.
If you're embarking upon reading at the same time as I am writing, then I hope you enjoy my blog! Even if you've been reading this months down the track, and this is the last post you've come to... then I hope you've found something new, or funny, or interesting hidden among my rantings and ravings. All comments are very welcome, whether you're a friend or a stranger.

@Rene: I will suss out our itinerary, and might ask you for tips in the countries we're clueless about. *Grins*... and Mont St Michel is definitely on the list. The photo in the header was one I took when I was 13, and I'm looking forward to seeing the place again now I'm old enough to appreciate it better.
I want every detail.
And then I will come pounce on you and your family the moment you get home, stitches or no.
Also I thought I should inform you that if you're in Paris you're going to Espace Dali whether you like it or not. I can't remember if France was included in your itinerary. I know you were there a few years ago.

Also, as soon as I knew we were going to Paris, I remembered all those photos you showed me from the Dali museum. I'm set on the idea. :D
